Third, check out the club heads. Make sure the club head is not too worn. There will probably be some wear but as long as the grooves are still defined and there are no indentations they should be fine.
Buying Online Is A Great Deal
Used golf club's are all over the internet. From e-Bay to private dealers and even the big dogs sell used sets. Make sure you check the price of the same site as new to see if you are getting a good deal. Of course, one problem with buying used golf clubs online is that you cannot test them.
You can't swing them around and get a feel for them. This is not to say that you should not purchase used golf club's online, it's best to just exercise a little caution.
Insist on a picture of each club in the set lined up so you can be sure they are all from the same set. Some of you may not be to worried about all the above concerns since you only play occasionally for fun. If you want to buy previously owned golf clubs and get a lot of use out of them, do check them carefully before you buy wherever possible.
Look For A Good Reputation
Used golf clubs on the market are generally a good deal and in good shape. Deal with someone who has a good reputation and you will do just fine.

One last note on previously owned golf clubs is the putter. You may want to consider investing in a really good putter that suits you personally, by working with a retailer to locate just the right one for you. Putting is frustrating enough without using the right equipment for you.

Look At Your Fourball – Are They Standard?

The next time you are with golfers and their golf clubs on the golf course look at just the physical differences between the players. Different heights, different strengths, different hand size and finger length. Now look at yourself and compare? Can you determine a ‘standard’ and are you that ‘standard’ or are you different from the standard in any of those measurements?
Most golfers play with a ‘standard’ length shaft (and grip size) so we have to assume that most golfers are ‘standard’. Ridiculous, isn’t it? But just compare the length of shaft on the 5-irons in your playing group next time and see what you think now.
You can see with your own eyes that the variety amongst the four balls is large. That needs to translate into a large variety of golf club setups on the shaft length alone.
With a shaft on your irons that has been measured to fit your physical characteristics, you will find yourself feeling more comfortable at address and that will translate into more confidence and improved results.
And don’t wait until you are a single figure handicap before deciding to play with a golf club that fits you. We start from a match to your physical dimensions but, then we consider both your setup and posture AND your ability to strike the ball consistently on the sweet spot before deciding on club length.

The Many Uses Of The Golf Cart

There are basically two types of golf carts. Gasoline powered or electric. Both types have advantages and disadvantages. With the gasoline powered golf cart you are able to refill the gas tank with a gas can. With the electric golf cart, you are restricted to a location that has available electricity to recharge the batteries. I personally prefer the electric golf cart. I have found that for the uses that I use a golf cart for, the electric golf cart will maintain a charge for roughly 1 week. Also the electric golf cart does not pollute our air, which benefits everyone.
Once you have decided on which type of golf cart to use you're then ready to make a purchase. You may choose to select payment plans offered by many golf cart stores. Coffee carts tend to be a large investment, but really come in handy for not only golfing, but in many many other uses too. The obvious first use of a golf cart is to carry your clubs on the golf range as the holes one through nine or one to 18, depending on the course you are on. The different holes on a golf course are spaced widely apart and walking all that distance can be tiring.
There is also an increase in the number of the 50+ age group. And these people will typically go to an area where there is a better climate. These people are sometimes called snowbirds or Winter Texans. In the RV parks that seniors use during bad weather and golf carts are used to transport you and your spouse to the various amenities available at the park. The typical snowbird or Winter Texan will use a golf cart to go check the mail or to go to the swimming pool or hot tub. Many RV parks have parking spaces that are small enough to hold a golf cart.
Golf carts can range in price from being reasonable to being outright expensive. The many different models offer different features, and I would encourage you to select the golf cart that will meet the use that you will have for the golf cart. There are so many different uses for a golf cart. In this article cannot adequately address. There are even people that soup up their golf cart and use it for racing. I personally have never gotten into using my golf cart for racing, but I use it on my property to get around because I own many acres of land.

There are many types of golf balls available in the market today. A number of elements in the manufacture and design of golf balls must be borne in mind whilst purchasing them. However, your final choice, the type of ball you play best with, is down to personal preference. The distinction between different balls is mainly due to compression or ball cover. Balata, litium and Surlyn covers are popular ones that allow wound balls to be played by those looking for both distance and high spin.
A balata-covered ball is essentially a three-piece ball: a liquid-filled core wound with rubber and covered with balata. Balata is simply a soft substance, which leads to cuts and nicks. This "softness" is said to provide "better playability" which is to say that the golfer can "shape" his/her shot (fade/draw), and get more "action" (backspin) on the greens. These are usually more costly and have a short life.
A surlyn-covered ball is typically a two-piece ball having a solid core with the surlyn cover. Surlyn is an artificial "uncuttable" substance, which is designed to eliminate the cuts and nicks. The Surlyn ball is much harder as compared to the Balata one. The drawbacks of the harder ball are that golfers find it more difficult to "shape" their shot (fade/draw), and get "action" (backspin) on the greens.
Albeit there isn't any relation between the compression of a golf ball and the distance over which it travels, the compression of a ball usually affects how the ball feels when hit. Most ball compressions are generally rated between 80 and 100. The higher the compression, the harder the ball feels when you hit it. A 100-compression ball has a much more "solid" feel when hit than the one with 80-compression. The most commonly used compression ball is 90. However, it is down to personal preference as to what a golfer feels most comfortable with.

Golf Bags Of All Types

Golf bags come in all shapes, sizes, looks and purposes. Some are lightweight carry bags; others are huge, custom bags that weigh a ton and take up your entire trunk of your car.
If you're an avid golfer, you've been through a few golf bags in your lifetime. I'll bet on the average of a new one every two years. For some of you, every year! Golf bag technology is getting better and better. The bags are getting lighter, but at the same time, able to hold more accessories and still protect your clubs.
